Functional Component of Testing to be conducted the
week of September 28th
ALBANY,
NY (09/25/2009) -- New York's Voting System
Certification Program, the first in the nation to
require that voting systems comply with the federal
Election Assistance Commission's 2005 Voluntary Voting
System Guidelines, is nearing completion.
The New York State Board of
Elections will be hosting the functional component of
certification testing, as required by state regulation,
the week of September 28 through October 2, starting at
9:30 AM each day. This testing sequence will be
conducted at Building 3 of the State Office Campus, off
Western Avenue, in Albany. This site has been used by
the State Board for the acceptance testing of new voting
equipment, as well as for training programs for county
boards of elections.
Testing on the Dominion
ImageCast and ES & S DS-200, both optical scan systems,
which may be viewed by the public, will be facilitated
by SysTest Labs of Colorado, security consultant NYSTEC
of Albany, the Board's Citizen Advisory Committee, as
well as State Board staff.
